The Consequences

My wretched soul,
Cast through the fires of torment,
Twisted and shaped in the depths of hell,
Thy horrors haunt me,
As I lay lifeless on the ground,
Thou art ever near,
Stalking as a cat does a mouse,
All sinewy strength as you prepare to pounce,
To feed off of my broken limbs,
And drink of my useless tears,
The minutes tick by as I lay here,
Waiting for the doom of my fate,
And I fear it is too late,
To change my ways and avoid this scene,
I plead for a chance to show,
That I can do better,
As I wait for the pain,
The ripping of flesh from bone,
I wake from this horrible nightmare,
And realize I'm all alone.
